Brenda Rothert is a former newspaper reporter turned USA Today Bestselling Romance author. She thinks every story is better with romance, and she loves the challenge of creating fresh characters and stories every day.

Brenda lives in Central Illinois with her husband, children and three dogs. An avid reader, she finds time to get in at least a chapter of a book every night (preferably more!) Her favorite genres are sci-fi romance and dystopian romance.

About Brenda

  • I got my start by entering a dystopian romance in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. I advanced, but didn’t win, so I self-published the book.
  • I love Taco Bell. Like a lot.
  • My favorite books ever are the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown, The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons and The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.
  • I have an Old English Bulldog, a St. Bernard mix and a Bernese Mountain dog mix. 
  • I worked at McDonald’s in high school, and I still regularly dream I’m working in the drive-thru there.
